Having worked with actress Beth Chamberlin for so long it's hard to believe where she was just 2 years ago. Surely you're hard pressed to see anyone other than an incredibly fit woman in the video. If I told you that were far from the case when she first contacted me a short 2 years ago, I'm sure you'd not believe me. But honestly, it's the truth. Beth was what I called "skinny fat", that is, skinny with no muscle. As the story goes, it was her husband Peter, a chiropractor, who first introduced Beth to kettlebell training. It wasn't long after that first introduction that Beth felt the fever for kettlebells and found herself hooked on what became her "guiding light" to her kettlebell body.
Beth was so moved by the transformation that it inspired her to create her own kettlebell training DVD. She approached me about a year ago and asked if we'd be interested in shooting the DVD with her. Of course we were intrigued and honored and jumped at the opportunity. The Kettlebell Way to a Perfect Body was shot and earlier this year was released to rave reviews by some of the most hardened kettlebell athletes. The Kettlebell Way has become an instant classic.
In June it was our great honor to have Beth in attendance for our Art of Strength kettlebell certification class. Although not interested in becoming a kettlebell instructor, she felt her transformation wasn't entirely complete until she attained the coveted Art of Strength Kettlebell Certification. After taking the weekend's long event she went home and quickly began practicing all that she learned. Knowing Beth's personality it was of no great surprise to see her AOS test arrive via mail just a few weeks later. We allow up to 1 year for people to send in their test tapes and frequently many take advantage of the time to practice and perfect their form for the scrutinizing eyes of the AOS staff. Having passed her test it's truly an honor to have Beth a member of the AOS Team and Family. Her determination and efforts over the past 2 years is an inspiration to so many. The transformation that her body has taken is testament to the power of kettlebell training. Beth Chamberlin, AOS is truly an example that many women can look up to. She is the physical manifestation of what kettlebell training for woman can be. Congratulations Beth on the culmination of a journey that has taken you so far.
