PEAPACK-GLADSTONE -- Actress Beth Chamberlain recently visited with Matheny Medical and Educational Center adult patients at the new Punch Kettlebell Gym in Far Hills.
Chamberlain, who plays Beth Raines on the CBS daytime drama, "The Guiding Light," has collaborated with Punch founder, Anthony DiLuglio, to produce a fitness DVD, "The Kettlebell Way to a Perfect Body."
The Punch gym will use kettlebells, which resemble a flat-bottom cannonball with a handle, as the central tool for strength, endurance and body shaping. The kettlebells allow for movements and exercises that cannot be achieved with barbells, dumbbells or weight machines.
Chamberlain is donating the DVDs, which will be sold at the Far Hills Punch Kettlebell grand opening in Far Hills on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Proceeds from sales of the DVD and a live auction of some kettlebells will go to Matheny, a special hospital and educational facility in Peapack for children
and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Both Chamberlain and Punch founder, DiLuglio will be at the grand opening along with co-owners of
the new gym, Valerie Pawlowski, second from left and Shari Sperandio, second from right, both Peapack residents who also own New Jersey Adventure Fitness Boot
Camp, an outdoor program of fitness instruction, nutritional counseling and motivational training.
The gym is located in Ludlow Square at 49 Route 202.
